3. Seuldo Island (슬도)

Introduction

Seuldo is an island located off the coast of Ulsan in the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula. Seuldo (meaning geomungo, a Korean stringed instrument) is named so because the sound of wind and waves hitting the rocky island is similar to the sound of a geomungo. In fact, the sound of the waves hitting the island is so good that it is also called Seuldomyeongpa or the sound of the waves. This island is also called Siru Island (Siru) because it resembles an upside-down Siru, and Gombo Island (Gombo) because of the holey stone. The island has an unmanned lighthouse built in the late 1950s. The island's main economic activity is fishing.

4. Bangeojin Port (방어진항)

Introduction

Bangeojin Port, designated as a national fishing port in 1971, is Ulsan's representative fishing port with a large-scale fisheries cooperative consignment site and auction house. This is a place where various fish species such as yellowtail, cutlassfish, mackerel, and anchovies can be caught. You can purchase fresh seafood at a nearby fish market or raw fish restaurant and eat it right away. The walking trail along the breakwater leads to Seuldo Lighthouse, a photo spot, and the sea road leading to Bangeojin Port, Daewangam Park, Ulgi Lighthouse, and Ilsan Beach also boasts romantic scenery. Recently, to revitalize tourism resources, murals and floor designs for the northern breakwater and parking lot were developed, and the Bangeojin Museum, a village museum, was opened. It serves as a resting place for Ulsan citizens and offers various attractions to tourists.
